Visa Service re-opens to new applications (20/10/2009)

UKBA and the  British Embassy are pleased to announce the re-opening of the visa service in Tehran on 26 October 2009
The visa application procedure in Tehran has not changed.  The process for all applicants is:

  • Make an online application at www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk . Any previous applications made online have now lapsed, so all applicants will need to make a new application.
  • After submitting the online application, e mail appointments.tehran@fco.gov.uk  to request an appointment at the Embassy in Tehran to submit the necessary supporting documents, pay the fee and provide biometric data.  Your e mail must give your full name, passport number, GWF application reference number from your online application, and the type of visa you are applying for.
Please note that appointments will be allocated in strict order. We regret we will not be able to meet requests for particular dates or times. Once an appointment has been allocated it cannot be changed or transferred.
  • Attend the Embassy at your scheduled appointment time to submit the necessary supporting documents, pay the fee and provide biometric data. Only the applicant with the correct name and passport number will be admitted for the appointment.  Passports will be checked to verify this.

Please note that ALL visa applicants, irrespective of previous travel to the UK, must provide

  • Full supporting documents for their visa application.
  • The documents must be originals and certified translations must be provided for all documents that are not in English.
